Dwight Howard Decides To Stick It Out With The Orlando Magic
Although Dwight Howard has stated he wanted to be traded; he had a change of heart just hours before the deadline. The city of Orlando had a collective sigh of relief when Dwight Howard decided to waive the early termination clause in his contract. This means he’s staying with the Magic thru the 2012-2013.
What Does This Mean For The Magic’s Future?
Dwight committing to the Magic could mean great things for the Magics’s future! Not only will the Amway Center be booming from Howard’s TimeClock in Orlando being extended. His stay can greatly increase the chances of a certain free agent landing in Orlando next year.
Deron Williams To Orlando In Offseason?
Now that Deron WIlliams and the Nets know that they won’t have a shot at Howard in the off season; will WIlliams sign with the Magic as a free agent? Although Williams has a contract with the Nets through the 2013-2014 season, he can opt out this season which he has made clear he will do. Question is, will he change teams? I believe that with William’s guaranteed TimeClock in Orlando winding down the Nets have good reason to worry. Williams and Howard want to play together and the only way they could control that scenario is if Williams signs with Orlando in the offseason.
What Happens If Deron Williams Lands In Orlando’s Timeclock?
Orlando fans should be dreaming for this scenario. Although the average NBA fan has seemingly forgot how great Deron is he is still big time. With Deron and Dwight leading the Magic they immediately become a contender. On the other end of the spectrum the now New York Nets soon to be Brooklyn Nets would be crushed. With moving to a new arena they will have to attract a new fan base, although Brooke Lopez is no joke. Jay Z partial owner of the Nets is praying this does not become a reality.
With the TimeClock on this NBA season ending everyone should be excited for what could happen during the offseason! Almost as excited as they should be for saving money on their payroll.
